Early rise at the Hyatt to get up and check some emails and knock out a little work. Once I got some food and cleaned up I was headed to the key note speaker address, very cool. Danny Sullivan gave us a run down on Social Media and what to do with it in the coming year. Danny claims SMM & SEO are the new wonder twins. To close Danny spoke about the future subjects to come in the new year of search. First was “MicroHoo” the merger of Yahoo and Microsoft and how the big 3 is good for compitition which now has a 4th ask.com. Another great point was will there be a recession, Danny states “Buying may dip, but it wont stop search.” He talked about seeking solutions to the negative look that is very much thrust upon SEO industry. Danny tells us that more press on legit companies that work hard and do it right to give the client a quality job done right.

Next stop was web 3.0 and the Search Marketing Blend. On my way in Danny Sullivan was standing behind me and commented on the eVisibility t-shirt that I was wearing and how you liked it. I then was able to chat briefly with him and give him a t-shirt and a business card. From there I meat up with the crew Steve, and Mike from www.geeks.com Miguel did not attend. As I worked my way around the room and meet several cool people a few come to mind such as Lindsay Perkin from www.ontargetjobs.com I did my network thing and introduced my self she liked my shirt so I gave her one. I herd from her later that day and she said getting the shirt was the highlight of the first day. The crew was listing to search blend and then there was a slow time when Venessa Fox asked if any one had a joke, I did and I raised my hand and in front of the crowd spewed my joke ” what animals on the farm like porn? - Brown Chicken Brown Cow” thanks T-Bone for that one. The look on Venessa’s face and the reaction from the joke was classic. Miguel who was not even with us saw it being blogged about on twitter, how cool was that. I also met two younger ladies from Google WebMasterTools that I spoke with a bit and gave T-Shirts to, they both loved the t-shirts but did not have cards. On the way out I was hit up by a guy with a media company and 2 to 3 more colleagues interested in the shirt’s I definatly felt like a rock star after that.

Wednesday night was the Google groove and me and my boy Ryan from www.visitlubbock.org tore up the place, our Karaoke was off the hook. Youtube caught us doing karaoke
